Official US IWI production picture:

A semi auto US made IWI UZI pro is already listed with distributors, would be a very fun SBR.

The Uzi-Pro is an improved variant of the Micro-Uzi has been launched in the year 2010 by Israel Weapon Industries Ltd. (I.W.I.), formerly the Magen ("Small Arms") division of Israel Military Industries. The Uzi-Pro is a blowback-operated, select-fire, closed-bolt submachine gun with a large lower portion, comprising grip and handguard, entirely made of polymer to reduce weight; the grip section has been redesigned to allow two-handed operation and facilitate control in full-automatic fire with such a small-sized firearm. The Uzi-Pro features three Picatinny rails, two at the sides of the barrel and one on the top for optics, having the cocking handle been moved on the left side.[13] The new weapon weighs 2.32 kg and has a length of 529 mm with an extended stock,[14] and 30 cm while collapsed. It has been purchased by the IDF in limited numbers for evaluation and it is yet to decide whether to order additional units for all of its special forces.[14][15]

Will it be sold as a pistol? They'll have to do away with the folding front grip. I wonder if the lower frame will have to be redesigned for US import, since it kind of incorporates a front grip.

From the information, it looks to be a pistol.  The front grip wouldn't be possible, but the frame should be GTG as it is a trigger guard a la AUG.

If it's a pistol no thanks.

But think of the SBR possibilities!
Or, if it has interchangeable barrels like other Uzis, then you can add a 16" barrel and a stock and make a rifle. Or maybe it'll be for sale as a rifle also?

TWA should be bringing these in after the Tavor starts rolling if my memory serves from what I was told at the Bullpup Shoot.

That Micro UZI makes me want to SBR my UZI pistol so badly!

They need to lose the blatantly ripped off Jason Bourne soundtrack and lose the AUG trigger guard.

WTF!!??

At 0:40 they should have shot the Marketing Manager in the noggin!

Sounds like someone never played Counterstrike.

Wish they would just build a simple Uzi and stop messing with it

Do it. Micro uzi is complete awesome-sauce. I have owned a lot of firearms and it is by far my favorite.

I wonder if a registered bolt would be able to run in it?

First thing I thought of... but would the side cocking feature mess that up?

I'd love to see a factory SBR version of this, or even just a plain rifle version. For one thing, we can't own Uzi pistols in MD. For another, it looks infinitely more usable than the original Micro due to the VFG. There just aren't a lot of light 9mm PDW semi-auto guns in the USA, for whatever reason.

It's interesting that they have changed it to a closed bolt gun, even in full auto.

This is a big change from the UZI series we've known and loved in the past.

Interesting, but I'd rather have the original. This one looks like some Hollywood prop department "futured-up" an Uzi for a sci fi movie.

Has there been any word on price? If this is yet another $2,000 collector piece it will be entering a glutted market.

Correct. I just don't give 2 shits about video games and their firearms misinformation. Hopefully the contemporary firearms industry isn't stupid enough to think that if X number of teens playing online games select a certain weapon that it translates to there being a viable US market for such a firearm. It would behoove themselves to pay attention to the  people who actually shoot, maintain and work on real guns, and develop and market products for that market segment.

Yup, no hint of anything resembling a forward grip. Looks kind of pedestrian now.

Wow, that is pretty ugly.  I think I'd prefer a standard Mirco.

No, though regular UZI mags can be modified to work with the new mag release in the UZI PRO.

UZI PRO mags will work in regular UZI's.

Although I love the UZI and I have an IMI UZI pistol, I don't see the Pro selling well in the US. You have MPA making a decent knockoff for under $400. Unless the price point will be around $500, I won't get one.

wow that neutered version looks like crap, and I am a huge uzi fan to begin with.

I will stick with my NFA micro uzi.

um...

MPA makes MACs. MACs are NOT uzis!  MACs look like uzis, but uzis are much much better.

This is a girl gun.

Should be painted pink.

Maybe add a picture of a kitten or bunny on the grip.

Seriously though

My wife has trouble racking the slide of most 9mm's

With the side charging handle & intimidating looks & high capacity

It's perfect for her for home defense
