What should i use?Any attach to the receiver?

Usually receiver mounted sights are the "peep" variety, ladder sights are generally mounted on the barrel in a dovetail slot milled into the barrel.



For better answers though, a mention of what rifle you're talking about might help.

No, and preferably not,i got to try out my friends Marlin with a tang sight and while i apprciated the sight radius compared to his 30-30 with just buckhorns it was uncomfortable with the 45-70


Speaking of which, the rifle will be a Marlin Scout 45-70
