I can't find my Winchester book, but I think that the top eject models are pre 1964 production.
edit to add If in good shape, $350 doesn't sound like a bad price at all. I paid near that for my '94 .32 win special about twenty years ago. |

I found the angle eject started in '84.
now I just have to figure out when they started to use the lever safety. |

If you are refering to the little button that is depressed by closing the lever, apparently they started making them that way in '94. (1894 that is.) Here is a link to a page describing the second earliest First model Saddle ring carbine known to still be in existence.
