First off I wanted to thank everyone for the education in safes and security.  In a world where everyone is just trying to sell you something and everyone is making a cheaper product, it is good to hear peoples thoughts.  I have been learning a lot about what hype, important, is and how to make the right choices on security items.  
It appears a good lock is the S&G mechanical 6730 group 2.  What is the difference in getting that on a safe versus a lock that is group 1 and or GSA approved?

GSA approved locks are only required for government use.

Group 1 mechanical locks are really overkill for most applications, as they are only designed to offer a high level of manipulation resistance.

Group 2 mechanical locks are what you see most often, and the 6730 is probably the industry workhorse.

If you wanted to go halfway, you can get a Group 2M.

Cool, thanks for the feedback, Group two sounds good to me.  i was told the group one requires more maint and upkeep?
