They pop up on Gunbroker. The LE trade in 551s run 5K-6K. The pre ban 550s are high..9K-12K. I would recommend the 551 for the money. Most have not been shot much.
This is my 55 LE model with green furniture and a 551LB installed:

There were some SG 551 SWAT post samples offered here last year in the $2500-3500 range, as parts kits also. Some have used 556 receivers to rebuild on. Biggest hurdle doing that is overcoming the front trunnion thread difference.

Unless a future administration rescinds some import regulations, I dont think there is anyway you will see a Swiss 553 LB in the US. I never saw how JDI thought they were going to skirt things and get those parts kits in, although it would have really been nice. Ben at Gatewood Supply seems to be a good source of SIG parts but the only barrels he seems to be able to get are 551 SBs and 552 barrels that come from cut up weapons.

I know it's not the same but I put an aluminum 553 lower on a 556 Swat patrol and it is basically like a 16" barreled 553. A complete Swiss would be nicer but not much chance of that happening in the future.
