This may sound like a stupid question to some, but I was wondering if an individual is required to obtain an FFL when they sell a certain amount of previously owned guns a year?  Is there a certain number that the ATF considers you to be a dealer?
Example:  Im my state, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles considers you to be an automotive dealer when you transfer more than 10 vehicles a year.

No, there is not a number. You could have a collection of 600 guns and decide you want to sell them, and no FFL is required. What they consider dealing is a repeatitive pattern of buying and selling firearms with the intention of making a profit.

There is no number.  The buying and selling of guns "in regular course of trade.........Principle objective of .....profit....". is required to have an FFL.
Of corse the above is not a direct quote of 922A1 but yoy get the idea.
