Steyr AUG (Austeyr) maintenance

Neat video from 1996 going over basic cleaning and maintenance of the Austeyr from the Australian Army Training Command.

Sorry for the potato quality, but not my vid!

I need to get some Service Flannelette right away!

Actually, I wasn't aware of the graphite on the trigger pack.  I will do that from now on.

That was fascinating!
I love the Australian “bunny camo” pattern.
The new Auscam multicam with bunnies is not half as unique and cool.
I had no idea you were supposed to clean the charging handle channel, oil the butt plate and piston head, and not oil the bolt face and locking lugs.

I’ve been doing what I read from (was it maleante?) on Steyr Aug and clones with yes of course oil on the piston and only 2 drops to oil the entire gun.
I think I will keep on doing what I’ve been doing

I just tried the graphite powder on the trigger pack.  It definitely made a noticeable difference!
