What optic are you folks using on your bullpups? Seems like either a RDS, prismatic or other very compact optic would be best given things like charging handle interference and limited rail space.

Aimpoint T2 on the X95.
Trijicon Ta33 on the AUG.

The most unobtrusive mount I have found is the Scalarworks LEAP mount.  I wish they made one for the ACOG.  About the only option aside from that is to reverse the mount so that the screws/lever is on the opposite side of the charging handle.

I've had a 1-4, an Eotech and the new PA Cyclops 1x prism on my RFB.

The Cyclops is growing on me.  compact, relatively light compared to a LPVO, and can be used with dead batteries.

I'm running a Burris RT-6 on my AUG, mainly because my eyes are poor enough that an RDS is irritating and most iron sights don't work well enough with my eyes for me to be willing to choose them over an optic.

Very nice rifle.

EOTech on my A3 M1, no RDS due to astigmatism. Pretty much had to get the GHW charging handle to make that combo work and still manually lock the bolt.

Aimpoint PRO on my Tavor, factory optic on my Stg77 and a Holosun 510C on my RDB.

I have a Vortex AMD UH Razor holosight on mine. I changed out the stock charging handle with the much better Gear Head Works charging handle and it moves the charging handle out of the way so I can mount any scope I want on my Steyr Aug. Before that I had an Elcan Specter DR 1-4X scope on mine and my knuckles would hit the base of that scope. With the Gear Head Works charging handle, it eliminated that issue.

TA47-2 on my AUG A3M1. I tried red dots and the OEM 1.5x and the mini ACOG is by far the best thing I've put on it.

Holosun HS510C on my AUG A3. Mounted all the way back so there's no interference with the sling or charging handle.

Disregard the non-tacticool sling, I was testing the factory slivels.

Still stuck on a SIG Romeo 7....gonna go to an Aimpoint in the future.  Romeo has been a solid performer so far, though.

I've ran them all...my Tavor sports a PA 1X Cyclops (which is one heck of a value) and my STG556 sports an Aimpoint.

I've ran LPVOs on the Tavor but to me it really throws off the balance of the optic.

I ran a holosun RDS on my AUG for a while then sprung the money for an ACOG and never looked back.  I've ran an ACOG a few different times in the past and really liked them (was issued one as well) and everytime I sell one I wind up getting another one down the road.  I'm back in the market for one now.

Meprolight RDS on my SAR, since it was designed for it.  Replaced an EOTech, and I've been super happy with it.

My X95 has a Meprolight M21 with a Samson 3.5x magnifier.  It's a tad heavy but I like it.

I’ve got a Cyclops prism on my X95 but I’m going to switch it out for (probably) a UH-1 since the HoB difference between the Tavor and an AR make the reticle on the Cyclops less than optimal.

I have a TA31 ACOG on my AUG, the Corvus rail has a built in mount that is perfect for it.

TA31F on my AUG.  I just bought a KELTEC RDB and will be in the market for another TA31 to go on that.

Any issues with the short eye relief like bonking on the shooting glasses with the rear lense?
Link Posted: 7/15/2019 12:20:01 AM EDT

This really depends on what you want to do with the rifle moreso than the rifle itself. Bullpups are pretty flexible in range, so anything from a RDS, prism, or LPVO would all be appropriate depending on what you want and what you foresee doing with it.

FWIW my Aug CQC has a Holosun ACSS w/ magnifier. My Tavor has a mepro RDS but that’s really just to keep with the Israeli theme, I had a 33 on it and it was a great match. My PS90 has the OEM illuminated green dot sight, but again that is more about keeping the look right than anything else.

ETA yes charging handle clearance may be an issue, but even on ARs I usually have my mounts set up with the mount levers/bolts on the right side to avoid this issue.

Very rarely like in weird non standard positions if i wasnt paying attention.  But i had shot with an ACOG for years before my AUG on both issued and personal rifles so i was used to it.

I remember when we first started getting issued ACOGs guys coming off the firing line with bruised up or slightly bleeding faces because they were all over the eye piece and didnt have a good hold on the rifle.
