Bullpup?  CZ?  Manticore?

:mindblown:

Count me in provided this isn't like a $1700 Tavor 9mm bullpup.  Because I'm over that sort of nonsense at the moment.  The Bren is expensive, but other than that CZ and Manticore aren't known for being overpriced.

Will this be compatible with both pistols and the longer barrel versions?

Is it a chassis or a separate gun?

I mean I guess I can just wait and see tomorrow, but I’m impatient and want info now

In to see where this is going.

Would be boss for a Scorpion conversion kit if it uses the Scorp as a framework.

Agreed...if it used a stock Scorpion as the base and was a conversion kit, I'd buy it on Day -1.

Yeah I’m extra interested since mine is already an SBR

This picture popped up on Facebook a few hours ago:

I sure hope it's ambidextrous, but I kinda doubt it since it appears to be based off the Scorpion.

Looks like it may not be compatible with the pistol version, the barrel would end before the trigger.

That wouldn't be a problem for me.  My Scorpion has a dedicated suppressor and is SBR'd.

Two more problems: where do you put your offhand, and where do you mount your sights/optics?

It’s gotta be a carbine I think.

No offense but I like the original scorpion better. That sight looks really high above the bore.  I would prefer an SBR if wanted a shorter package. It also looks really bulky. And is that the charging handle right in front of your mouth? I know it’s a bullpup but the trigger length of pull looks really long.

Now this is interesting...big time. How lefty friendly is it?

Looking at the picture above I agree with JK-919. An SBR would have the muzzle just above the trigger pack / grip assembly, possibly even rearward biased / behind the grip judging by the location of the charging handle. Some sort of extended flash hider or fake can would need to be employed to get the muzzle to clear. And if that was the case the end product you'd get would be something like the Russian OTS14 Groza... super duper short but really wonky to actually use without the same kind of kludgey workaround front vert grip the Groza had to eventually use.

If they were going to redesign this for SBR use I'd think some sort of combined trigger / hand guard / vert grip ala the Tavor or Famas G2 with some sort of built in lip / fingerguard / handstop would be the only way to go. And that would be a distinct visual clash with the aesthetic they already have going on. Or something like the MDR-C prototypes had... and even in all those situations you'd still need the extended flash hider to clear. Looking at the photo above that may be an SBR inside a carbine frame and that suppressor looking thing is some sort of extended fake can to get the distance they need.

So unless told otherwise I'm going to assume this is a standalone gun and / or a kit for the carbine scorpion only. It looks like a really interesting adaptation of the existing design, and if I didn't own an SBR Scorpion I'd be interested in it... but I see no real reason to buy a second larger Scorpion. And not to be the gross dark brown raisin under the peach cobbler, but the vast majority of Scorpions I've seen in the wild are pistols with braces or SBRs. I've never once seen a carbine version... so if this IS a carbine only conversion / standalone, I really don't see that large a market for it.

I’ll stick with my cx4 storm. It’s about as compact as a rifle pcc can get anyways with the mags going into the pistol grip and all.

Sweet. One of these suppressed and fitted with a binary trigger would be a fun range toy.

ETA: Dont know if a binary would be possible appears to be a crossbolt safety.

Why keep the scorpion grip?

Should be an ar15 style so you can swap it out to what you want

I guess I better buy a carbine then.

Any more info yet?

And if you like the Scorpion grip?  Then you're screwed and have to buy a part that you don't want.  The AR is a great platform, but I like how other companies are making their products "AR Parts Free".

Also:

1. Overall length

3. Price
4. When can I give you my money

Sven, will you offer this with a longer handguard?  It would be nice if it was longer and further out towards the end of the suppressor/flash can/faux suppressor.

Found this video today. Some more info.

Notes from video:
-Absolute minimum length to not be NFA w/ 16" barrel
-CZ may be selling these as Kits. But may end up a complete factory option.
-Cross bolt safety
-Uses standard scorpion upper attached to custom bullpup lower. Includes a riser for optics rail.
-Maybe 3/4lb extra trigger pull with the bullpup trigger design
-Decent take down and reassembly
- 7lbs 8oz (lighter than Tavor by about 1/2lb
-Ballpark kit price $400 (will probably change)
-Easily converts back to stock scorpion configuration
-Photos showing a suppressor on the end are faux slip over barrel cans. The barrel extends out as far as the can does in the photos.

So I might have missed it in the video, but when is it anticipated that Kits will be available?

also; I wonder if you made a flat plastic receiver endplate with the words "not for shouldering" embossed on it that you could argue that a sub 26" one would be a pistol. After all, the receiver end plate isn't a butt pad, not is it a stock.

Put me down for that PDW version.

There’s a case deflector, but since it uses the Scorpion upper, there’s no way to swap ejection sides.

Man I’m pumped about this thing. I’ve always wanted a small 9mm bullpup sbr.

Agreed! I’ve never understood bullpup 9mm conversions from 5.56 like the Aug, SAR, X95, etc as one may as well be shooting 5.56.

Product looks great, super excited for when these get out in the wild.

I'm thinking a integrally suppressed one with a pistol barrel might be as short as 20"

The SBR is really short. Looks like you really need muzzle awareness to avoid hand injuries.

On the carbine version...is there an MLOK slot on the bottom of the short amount of left over forearm that you could add a vert grip? I know it would be right in front of your other hand, but it would work....if there is room.
