AUG and MSAR Talon mounts

Alight bullpuip fans,

We are looking at gearing up to do a short production run of A3 AUG and M1 AUG Talon scope mounts. Basically a mount that allows you to mount up a 30mm scope and looks similar to the original AUG carry handle scope.

The A3 and M1 are going to be run, the question is how many MSAR owners are still out there looking for a Talon Mount? If there is some demand we might run a short batch of those too, but I need to get a feel for how many people, if any, are looking for mounts. Price is typically around $250 a mount, ring tops included. We would be running smooth ring tops for all the various mounts (no one ever actually used the dovetail mounts for BUIS.)

I already have one for the MSAR and also for the A3.

I'd love to have a second one for the A3 and one for an upcoming M1.

I'm going to pass on the MSAR one though.

Sadly, with MSAR being out of business and the parts being difficult to get I see them fading away, which is really sad. They had great potential. I like the E4 stock better than an AUG stock, so much so that I use an E4 stock on one of my AUG's!!

The only reason I still have an MSAR is because mine is one of the 12 5.45x39 complete factory rifles.

I'd be up for an M1 model, although I really like the integrated optic. Guess it depends on how it looks.

FYI, we don't have an exact timeline as we pretty much are squeezing these in between some larger jobs on the machines, but at a guess I would say available in 60-90 days.

P.S. Looks like there isn't demand for the MSAR mounts, so we will just run the A3 and M1 AUG mounts. Will get some pics up in the next few days of them mounted up with a scope on them.

A quick picture of the prototype M1 AUg (left) and updated A3 AUG (right) talon mounts

Debating on adding a way to mount a QD pocket on the A3 mount as there is not a good way to integrally machine one- does anyone actually use that forward sling mount point?

(The M1 AUG has a QD pocket integrally machined into the receiver, so it does not need a QD mount on it)

[ETA] I have come up with a way to get a good looking integral QD pocket on the front of the AUG A3 Talon mount, will look very similar to the way it is done on the M1 receiver.

I just put an ACOG on my AUG this week but I don’t see how I can pass on this. Loved my last one.

If you guys did a run for the MSAR STG you could put them on Gunbroker, mounts for the MSAR are going for stupid money.

I use the forward mount on my A3s, when hiking for long distances it is nice to have the sling mounted to the front.

Don't worry, the A3 talon mount that is going into production will have an integral QD pocket in it- I figured out a way to do it that looks pretty slick.

Luckily, I have one from the first batch. Actually mine was the ones you found behind the work bench a few years back.

I will check where we are on production on Monday, should be getting pretty close to done.

I am in the office tomorrow to hopefully get the product pages for the M1 and A3 talon mounts up on the webstore. The Bullpup Scorpion EVO has been eating most of my time lately, LOL.

I wound up with an AUG scope that I would like to use on other rifles. Can you guys or are you aware of anyone who can machine the factory scope mount off and make them suitable to mount on a P-rail?

@F224 A3 M1 or older A2/USR? Either way, why not trade for a different scope. PM me if you're interested in such a trade.

In short, no they will not, sorry. The MSAR uses a different mounting system.

Id like one for my MSAR. Just discovered this thread now that i bought my rifle a couple days ago. Cant find one of these or a factory optic. I will not rest till i find one.

We can do a run of MSAR mounts, but we might have to run it as a pre-order to guarantee we get the minimum amount.

We will look at the current cost to run a batch of the MSAR Talon mounts.

Most likely I will set up a pre-order for a 30 day window on our website, and if we get the minimum number of pre-orders we will run them. I fnot we will cancel the pre-order and refund the money.

Correct, the A3 model is in stock, the M1 model will be in stock in a week or so.

We havent geared up for MSAR mounts but maybe if enough people yell and holler we will make a small batch.
