Got a new KSG a month or two ago. Went to the range with wife and shot it for the first time. Worked perfectly. Zero problems. Ate all the ammo. I had field stripped it ahead of time and put quality gun oil and grease on all the moving parts.
Supper fun to shoot! It’s definitely one of my favorite guns now! Have pics of wife shooting it but don’t want to make you all jealous! And i can’t figure out how to post on my phone lol If your thinking about getting a KSG... do it now!

I own and like bullpups. Never could get comfortable with the KSG though and traded it off.
I may revisit the idea soon. |

I've heard of 2 injuries involving the KSG. One involved a crappy Promag Archangel vert grip. That uses a little, plastic nub to secure it to the rail. And it apparently broke and the dude shot his hand. Another instance supposedly involved a vert grip breaking/sliding off as well. That dude lost several fingers.
I have a KSG. I love my KSG and bullpups in general. But with a bullpup shotgun I think things need to be considered, especially with the KSG and it's plastic rail (which has been know to crack/break). One, use a good quality vertical grip, (if you're using one). The OP is using a Magpul, like I and many others use. Excellent choice. Uses, not one but 2 screws to secure it to the rail. Another thing that I use and recommend is a quality, aftermarket slip on metal rail. That crap ain't breaking with use. Had one once. Kinda regret getting rid of it. With the choke adapter it actually grouped quite well despite the short barrel.
My only big complaint was clearing jams. Sharing a feed and ejection port makes that more difficult than normal. |

To my knowledge no VFG was ever designed to handle being used to run a pump on a shotgun.
You can probably get away with it, especially if you get a quality VFG and a metal rail to go over the KSG's polymer rail but at the end of the day you are placing all the (relatively considerable) force of running the pump into a small area. Yeah they look cool, and may be fun to run, but you are taking a lot of risk using parts in ways they were not designed for. The VFGs we use were designed to use as a handhold on a rifle, mostly static load and low recoil. Do as you want, take people's experiences as you will, but I would never recommend running a VFG to operate a pump action, especially on a bullpup shotgun or SBS. It only needs to break once. I put a handstop set on mine which I feel is way safer as the pump is being run the way it was designed to be. |

I wish mine came with a forward grip. Would have saved me $20
They used to come with KT handstops, sometimes. My KSG did come with anything like that. |

The KSG-NR version comes from the factory with an integrated VFG/flashlight. The NR version has smaller magazines, 10+1 capacity, so the barrel protrudes beyond the magazine tubes. It's meant to be quickly turned into an SBS, if you like, by lobbing off the extra barrel length. After the NFA stamp, of course.
I held one at a lgs and I prefer it to the regular KSG. It's amazingly compact and light. With the integrated flashlight, it would seem to be an ideal home defense/trunk gun. It also occurred to me, that everyone seems to want Shockwaves and TAC-14s because of their compact size. Well, the KSG is the same length, but with a shoulder stock, 14+1 rounds and a full 18" barrel. |

I finally shot mine for the first time the other day. I added a Decelerator pad, XTM handstop and TRS-25 red dot. I shot some high brass birdshot, Minishells and a few slugs through it. The only issue was when I was not racking it firmly enough. I really enjoy it! I kept going back and forth about buying one for the past year and bought a Shockwave a few months prior, but $660 was a price I couldn't pass up.
For my small house, my Shockwave with a Crimson laser would be my first choice, but the KSG would be my choice outside of the house. |

I really liked the KSG. Great gun. Have not tried it yet with the hand stop but I'm sure it will work fine.
Wife thought it kicked kind of had. And she does not like lead. So I searched around and picked up some Fiocchi Low Recoil Steel shot. It was the only low recoil steal shot ammo I could find anywhere. |

Here is mine, got it in May of 2015, sat in safe for a couple years. Installed the muzzle brake/choke/extended buttpad/and metal pic rail and RVG in last few months.
I tried Magpul AFG and the keltec afg, neither felt right on the ksg.
