Does gunbroker have an email alert feature warning you the auction is coming to a close?  Similar to ebay?

I always miss bidding on stuff since I forget about it.  Considering the 13 extra mags, this was a deal.

Go to My Gunbroker > Preferences > Email Notification Preferences

May sure "Send watched item ending soon emails?" is set to Yes.

Place item in Watched List.

You should receive an e mail about 6 hours before the auction ends.

I don't know if you really missed out on not getting that one. It looks pretty beat to hell to me, but what do I know!

I was watching it cause I have 20" barrel envy.

I thought that also but then I saw it described as "very nice inside and out".  Must be an optical illusion.

For $1088 shipped you can get a  green 20" MSAR with factory optic from Buds Gun Shop.  Even with 13 mags you are still at a price of only $1350 or so.  I understand the collectible nature of early AUGs, but man, $700 is a lot of money to keep in the pocket especially when you are getting a new gun instead of a used one!

There are some decent AUG and USR deals on GB every once in a while.  I still like the guys who are trying to sell 42rd mags for $100 though.

Too true.

MSAR's are pretty well priced right now, but there are still some high-ons on GB stuck on the prices from 1 yr ago!

I would still take the AUG.

Just found out from another thread that MSAR was having trouble with some of the 1.5 optics and have yet to honor the exchange for a new one. That is not comforting. I will have to give that some more thought.

They can't exchange it as they have none to exchange it with.

Get the rail version. From what I have been told the MSAR optic is nowhere near as good as the Swarovski made Steyr optic.

I just bought CCCCanuck's 18'5" HB E4 (hope to get it tomorrow or on Sat). Initially I wanted to go with the stock MSAR optic and he said that he bought one and found that it was akin to looking through the base of a coke bottle - blurry on the edges and a very limited FOV.

I'll either run a Primary Arms 4x ACOG-style scope or a Bushnell 1-4x24 and call it a day.

Looked like honest wear to me, the A1 Augs were not exactly the most durable gun in existence.  The mags are easily worth $300.  Anyway thanks for the email alert tip.

meh, i got my limited edition MSAR with case, optic, rail, knife, sling, and 13 mags (6 42 round, 5 30 round and 2 20 round) for $1500 shipped to my ffl.

i simply can't imagine how a used aug can be worth $500 more than that entire package. I can appreciate vintage, but i'd much rather have my razor sharp knife and bad ass gun case.

$1500 for a limited edition STG-556 is a good price. I see them for way more than that on GB.

mine is the Gebirgsjager edition. They generally go for around 2400 with just the three 30 round mags that fit in the case, so i got it CHEAP, but there are good deals on the limiteds out there. You can occasionally find them for under 2000, and IMHO, that package is a MUCH better deal than the aug

Yeah I almost bought an ACU LE STG-556, but decided to go with the E4 instead which I just got today.

It is SWEET!
