I just picked up my RDB that I bought from another member here on the forum. I installed a set of extra Magpul BUIS that I had in my "Box O' parts"......

My RDB with the Raptor Rail.

Got my "custom" AUG build from Pete Athens last week - great guy to deal with BTW.  Had to wait a while for this one as the green furniture has been unavailable for a while.  I had considered a 40th anniversary model, but I really wanted the bolt release, and the receiver rail for a light.  Fortunately for me, Pete had a few of the retro smooth-sided scopes available separately that he could add to a standard A3 M1.  I also had him add a bayonet lug which had the added benefit of breaking the loctite bond of the flash hider.

The trip to the range was interesting as Steyr assembled my trigger group incorrectly with the forward leg of the trigger spring to the side, and not in the notch, of the disconnect lever.  This caused the trigger to not reset after each shot.  Took me a while to figure out what was wrong back home, but it was an easy fix.  Only got to shoot it at 50 yards, with five shots into 0.75", and four of those into 0.4", using some Win 223 FMJ.  Looking forward to shooting it at longer range when the weather improves.

I wasn't aware he had any of the smooth side scopes for the A3 M1 rifles.

Wonder if he has any more.

Brought out the old ladies 29 year old pre ban AUG A1 20" rifle and another same age pre ban IMI Galil AR 16" carbine imported by Action Arms.

Another oldie of mine same age as above guns pre ban AUG A1 16" carbine with NATO conversion stock, I got just the NATO conversion stock kit from Pete Athens awhile back.

Currently I use Magpul PMAGs and Lancer Systems L5 AWM 30 rd mags.

I just picked up a Desert Tech MDR, and fitted it with an Elcan Spectre DR.  Now if it would quit raining I could start the range work!

Manticore?  How’s the width of the handguard feel?  I’ve only seen a few pics of them, and they look wide.

@1888mustang

Thanks. I wasn't really trying for a distressed look. I was just messing with some green paint to break up the black some.

Noticed your Weyland Yutani sticker and went and hunted a few down.  Goes well on the AUG.

I actually cheaped out and printed off an image and tape it to y AUG. You ca thank Alien: Covenant for the idea.

I see we also have the same excellent taste in BlueForceGear slings. :D

Got to inspect 12 ea Steyr Augs today.  They all had the semi/burst set on the trigger group.  The camo one needs a new charging handle however.

Merry Christmas yall! I finally updated my Aug from a red dot and jumped on a light system. Yes the tape looks like shit. Yes I hate that little rail on the right side by the grip. My aug has always been on the backburner simply because I could never find a viable ligjt system. Tried pressy button with no tape switch but i hated the ergos when trying to press the light. I cant have my light pressure switch on the same hand as my trigger presser hand.Waell that's the best I found so far. Actually feels really good tapping the switch with the tip of the thumb while holding the vert grip.

There is always a chance the light rail mount will fly off the gun when I fire it. Had to do some ghetto tool work to tighten the surefire mount flathead screw on that fucky rail. Hope not because I like where the offset mount puts the light.
