Any word or pictures on Kent's rifle at SHOT?

This would be the American AUG that takes AR mags and not the MASR STG556.

Last I heard he was sharing a booth with some other company and would have some thing...maybe not though.

SteyrAUG posted some good pics of pete's AUG, excuse me, STG556. it looks good. i can't wait to see what kent's looks like. nothing like a little healthy competition.

ETA: there's a thread that SMGLee started and he's got pics of it. nice looking rifle.

+1 Nice design upgrades.

Nice photos by SMGLee from the noted thread link.

Rails, barrel fluting, extended left side mag release button, VFG, suppressor type FS, etc.

I've got to get them new Magpul PMags for my NATO AUG conversion and ARs.

I really wasn't paying too much attention to the new AUGs but Ken'ts looks really good.  I would like to get one in tan with a 20" barrel.

I don't have an AUG M16 stock, are you saying that Kent's AUG in the pics has a different mag release than the Steyr M16 stock? I know you have a factory one from your posts in other threads.

Kent's TPD AXR LEFT SIDE mag release is similar to my Steyr NATO-M16 stock except his have an extended mag release button, mine is just flush with the stock.

AXR's bottom mag release at the rear of the mag is the same as mine and STG 556.

Ok been looking over the TPD AXR rifle and it appears that the rail system has both a Top rail at the 12 o'clock position and a left mounted side rail right below that in the 9 o'clock position.  It looks like you could mount another rail at the 3 o'clock position, but that anything attached to it would block the charging handle or get in your way.

Is this a Tri-Rail or a Bi-Rail?

Since Kent's will take AR mags, I'll be all over it if it's less than $1800 and I've got a few good months to save up the cash.

Kent,  a few years ago I sold my AUG.  Really sorry I did that.  I like the idea of using AR mags.  I will be interested in your rifle when it becomes available.  Do you have a web sight yet?  How do I get on your waiting list?

Hey, just got back in my own town.  Glad you like the rifle!  The good news is that the rail pictured is just the simple rail, we have a full extended rail with additional 2.2 inch picatinneys at various locations.  Was not able to display it as needs to be protected.  I can show the extended rail without the attachments, but I need to take a day off, I am beat!

All is going well and on schedule for a June release as stated.  Barrels and all compliance parts in late February.

Awesome rifle. I love the rails, very practical, but will there be any way to attach one of the original-style scopes? I think it'd be nice to be able to switch back and forth from vintage to modern, ya know? Just curious, thanks.

So why no pics IN THIS THREAD???

My receiver will have to have a different rail interface, Steyr's is still proprietary.  I will look into it further but our new interface will be much easier to remove without having to take the rifle down to change rails.

As I said above that is the simple rail and we have an extended rail with additional picatinney rails to add more accessories.  Needed to get it protected before showing it.  There are some pics in SMGlee's thread not sure how to get them here.

Nice rifle Kent, here's the pic link of SMGLee's SHOT Show thread, the AXR pics is near the bottom of that page.

Shot Show 2007 Picture Tour.....Completed with 254 pictures SMGLee's thread page 2 link

If you guys ask SMGLee to use his pics here I'm sure he'll give his permission.

I see on the pics that you added an extended mag release button, do you guys think that a mag release button fence is needed?

My Steyr NATO conversion stock doesn't have an extended button but I'm still worried that I might drop the mag accidentally if it hit my mag chest rig, chances are low but it could happen.

Same question, where can I find an estimated MSRP? I am pretty much just wanting to know how much of a hit my wallet is going to take, the AR mag compatibility seals the deal on which AUG I'm getting.

What markings (if any) are on the rear of the Steyr NATO Stocks?  Does it say AUG NATO or something to that effect?
