Just found a good deal on a 2000 pack of 55 gr Berry's rifle bullets. Are they a halfway decent plinker?  I have only used Berry's pistol bullets and they have been fine.

Considering there are not a lot of options, I'd get them if they are priced right.. If your not looking to break records, I'm sure anything would be good.

I'm looking at 14000 CMJ 55gr made by Frontier Metal, not much info on them either.

I've got about 5000-6000 stocked up. Everything from Wolf to Hornady bulk.  I ordered them just to have.  $155 for 2000.

$155 for 2000 - that's pre or post 2020 dumpster fire prices?

I hope to have info this week on them.

I tried a partial ladder load last week with Tac, was not impressed with the accuracy, but I also didn't get up to the charge weights where my other 55gr various projectiles do well.

I don't have my notes with me, but for 55gr soft point,  22.5 gr of tac was exceptional. On the 55gr berry's I only went from 22.5 gr up to maybe 24.5 gr. It's still perfectly reasonable to find a sweet spot around 25.5 like my 55gr sp, but I hope to confirm that this week.

If I remember correctly my 55gr Amax llike 25.2gr tac

Anyway I'm sitting on 10k of them so I gotta find something that makes them work.

@DUX4LIFE

I loaded a few charge weights with Tac and some with H335

First a factory load to establish my shooting skill, rifle capability, control,  whatever:

Next my best load so far, 24.5 H335, berry's 55gr fmj

Next, Tac, which does very well with my Dogtown 55gr soft points and my 50 gr Vmax. As you can see,  not great with berry's

I dont like to hold my ammo accountable for my mistakes. Maybe the 2 outliers were my mistake. Even so, even counting whay could have been a crappy load "my mistake as a shooter" the group is only meh.

I think h335 shows promise.

For what it's worth it was 50 yards, gusty/choppy wind, 94°. Whenever there's a factory ammo control, I don't care much about conditions, the improvement of group size versus the factory control group tells me what I need to know.

I ordered 2000 of 'em.  I am going to try my CFE load.  H335 hasn't been kind to me.

I don't think they're imported/ sold any more.
