Pulled since I mistook the cast. non gas check bullet for jacket bullets isntead.

I forget where I got the reload info (Lyman? Lee?) but I ran about 12.5gr with Berry's 240 FP for years before moving to 800x for years. I found going as high as the other poster mentioned was WAY hot for the plated.
I had to move to 800x due to the powder shortage. Metering is a little worse but 800x has a wider accuracy window to play in. Good luck and let us know what you come up with. |

Been seeing high loads and low loads. Most say you have to run the bluedot highernot real sure. Will work up some test loads and see.

To add that the cast bullest are not gas checked, so you don't want to be pushing them fast through a 44 mag anyways (or will end up with barrel leading). So on that note, would save the blue dot for another load, and would pick a powder that burns slightly faster and more predictable to hold the speed of the casted bullets to under 1K fps instead. |

Taffin Tests, has only one Blue Dot load listed, under "pleasure loads". I'd pick a different powder before I tried pushing things with Blue Dot. |

I always got the best results with Blue Dot on the higher end of reloading data. 9mm, 357, 44 mag. In 44 mag and cast bullets, Blue Dot has worked well for me. So use cast data and work up expecting the higher end loads to be more accurate. |
