Unfortunately, the workbench won't be delivered until 88/2020. But that gives me time to clear out this mess. I have a bookcase that's twice as wide as the one pictured that I'll put there that will store components.

Emptied some 6.5 grendel, 7.62 x 39, and .308 at the range today.

Came home deprimed and wet tumbled 50 of the 7.62x39. It is Winchester brass cased, and after drying I resized it to 6.5 Grendel. It is on average about 11 grains heavier than Hornady 6.5 Grendel factory brass.

I figured it would be good to have some large primer 6.5 Grendel brass in case I run short on SRPs for the Hornady brass.

Now have to fireform it. I will probably start a thread on that cause I have a couple of questions about doing it with pistol powder so maybe I can save a little on powder.

Finished polishing the 600 spent 10mm casings from my big steel shootout on Sunday. Preparing for the 4th firing of this brass from the Banshee 10mm. Last loading I tossed about 5% of the brass that would not quite fit my case gauge after resizing in my dillon dies.

I suspect some variation in the case webbing thickness or drawing process that makes some of the brass swell more than others in the oversized Banshee chamber. I'm not pushing any limits on pressure however so we'll see if the case hardening helps the brass to last longer or if I see a case head separation/splitting begin.

Cost to reload this caliber is waaaay down. Scored a bunch more bullets from American Reloading and will start sorting the 180/200 gr mix when it arrives. Hoping for more 200s than 180s. Not bad for $75/k!

Sized some 5.56. Stopped by Fleet Farm and found 500 Small Rifle Primers. Definitely a pleasant surprise, so those got added to the pile.

Reloaded 40 test rounds of 30-06 using IMR 4350.  First time I have ever reloaded 30-06.

Hitting the range today and see what happens.

Oh, and Midway Shipping is kicking ass right now. Not sure who lit a fire under whom's ass, (did I use those words correctly?) , but, damn, they getting stuff to my house in less than a week.

Bought my first press (RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme), as well as a number of other parts (dies, tumbler, loading manual, etc.), a couple of 1 lb. containers of H335, ordered 4K 55 grn. projectiles, ordered 5K CCI 5.56 primers, collected a bag of brass from the range, and some other stuff I'm probably forgetting. Read through the tacked threads for a couple of hours here.

So, didn't really "do anything" exactly, but opened the door to finally start reloading. I suppose I'll be around asking questions about the stuff I didn't quite understand. But that said, I guess taking the first step is a start. I did already clean/tumbled about half the brass already, too, so that counts as "doing something."

(I should have got into this years ago.)

ETA - Because I've been asked a couple of times on primers, all of this was through a local gun store here in Alaska. We cannot order things like ammo, powder, and primers online from the lower 48, so I order ammo, and now components, through a shop here, which comes in with their orders up on the barge.

Went on a little road trip to a big GS with the girlfriend and picked up 2k SPP and 2k LRP. Had a nice lunch and waiting to see if the mailman comes with my Hornady press side replacement bushing so I can load up some 338WM tonight.

Gee... wonder wher you might have got some .338wm brass.

I loaded up several bins of 9mm, 45acp, 38spl, 223, 308, 8mm, and 338lm to get ready for a sizing session this weekend.

I also broke my first shell holder today.

Have not even broke into that brass yet.

No bushing in the mail today but after tumbling the 338Wm brass I lubed up the cases and have them ready to go for sizing.

I haven’t gotten into my loading room for a week. It’s been so busy at work that I haven’t had any gas left when I get home, and I worked the weekend too.  Poor me.

But today I got shipping notice for both a small Inline Fab order, and for a couple of tool heads I bought from a fellow ARFCOMer.  I’m expecting the stuff by Saturday.

Your primer stash is looking a little lean.  Better stock up.

I converted my 650 over to 9mm in preparation for some 9mm load developement.  Also ordered some goodies from Graf's to complement the stuff I ordered from PV last night.

Fired 45 rounds of 30-06 while working up a load that my old $50 beater Savage 30-06 would like.

Looks like 54.5 grains of IMR 4350 over a 165 gr Hornady GMX bullet is the ticket for me. Time to prep some brass and load a few and start sighting it in.

For me, this is well beyond the Minute of Deer Accuracy that I need.

Surprisingly I got the toolheads I bought from a fellow ARFCOMer today, essentially the next business day after he shipped them.  Thanks!!!

Otherwise I didn’t do anything.  It’s “hotter’n Hell” here lately, and I’m looking at overtime this week instead of spending time in my loading room.

In for what the experiment is about...

I got my Inline Fabrication order today.  I plan to install it - a Dillon Toolkit Extension for the UltraMount.  That Dillon tool set looks great, but I couldn’t get the output bin on the press with it mounted...  Now we’ll see who’s in charge - me or the press.  (I hope it’s me! )
