Would using CLP hurt dies after cleaning them?

I would say no, but remember to clean them before you use them.

Clean the CLP off before reloading?

Are you talking about the inside or outside of dies?

I protect the outside of my dies with CLP.

I actually hit both with the spray CLP.

You can use CLP to clean and protect the dies.  Then when you again use the dies to reload with, run a clean dry patch through them to remove the lube on the inside.

As several have said, CLP is great for cleaning and protecting the dies as long as you clean the CLP out of the dies before you use them.

Ok, I got it now.

I cleaned it before using it with CLP, I used a mop from the cleaning kit, then after everything was done, I ran dry patches through it. Was just checking for sure. I'm newer to reloading.

Protecting dies from rust might be one good use for WD40. I don't usually recommend WD for anything other than spraying down wet guns but a little bit on a die wouldn't hurt anything, IMO.

I actually stopped using WD40 a long time ago. Usually have grafite lube around and also usually have alot of Tri-Flo around for the mountain bikes..

Yep, I like this stuff.

Not to be confused with their case lube that doesn't get good press on this forum.

+1 on the Hornady One shot degreaser/dry lube. I spray down my press, dies, anything with parts that can rust every few months. Keeps my gear nice and shiny. (well, the ones that havent rusted yet at least )

But to answer OP's question- no. Just clean out the insides before use.
