Tried my 4.2gr 1911 loads in my dads glock 21 and it wouldnt cycle.

What are you guys using?

I like 4.8 gr BE under 230 gr. FMJ.

4.2gr is waaaaay light.  
Re-work your loads, 4.4gr min to 5.8gr max for the 200 gr, and then 4.4gr to 6.4 gr for the 185gr.

You need to up your charge or change to a lighter spring. The 1911 that feeds this load HAS to have had the spring changed to a lighter version.
