I am working up loads for a taurus raging bull in 454casull. As charge increases the cases become difficult to extract from the cylinder, it this a sign of over pressure? It starts at 35.5g of H110 behind a Hornady 240g XTP ( they list max at 36.9g). There are no other pressure signs. Primers are not flattened or cratered and there are marks on the brass. Velocity is also under listed velocity on Hornady handbook but it's also pretty cold today. Also what is a reasonable standard deviation for a shot string of 10 reloads?  I'm getting about 20fps SD with the casull which seems pretty good but I have gotten much highs values in other calibers.

Revolvers won't always flatten primers like a rifle.

What velocity are you getting?

I'm averaging 1700fps with a max of 1750fps

Accuracy is probably good with a SD that low.

My experience with H110 is that the SD gets tight, you get good accuracy and more powder gets you very little gains.

1700 with a 240 is a serious amount of power. Depending on what you are trying to do, try some of the 300 XTP @ 1400+.

Yea I noticed diminishing returns with respect to velocity. Not trying to do anything in particular with it, just having a fun day reloading and shooting a BIG GUN. The muzzle blast on this thing is awesome with the ported barrel.  Some actually GAVE this gun to my dad. It came with a half empty box of ammo, but have been to much gun for the previous owner.

H110 loads are perfect for shooting right bfore dark.

H110/WW296 lot variation could have something to do with it. I have some older cans and some newer and they are a little different.

I personally wouldn't push Max. 454 loads in aTaurus.  I wouldn't worry about published data in my Freedom though.
