for .223 (not counting brass cost, haven't had to buy any yet), I'm at ~0.16 per round (Ramshot TAC powder, Wolf SRM primers, Hornady 55gr. FMJ) for .45ACP (again, not counting brass, got enough of that from commercial rounds) I'm at ~0.27 per round (VIHT N340 powder, Reminton 2 1/2 primers, Hornady 230 grain XTP/HP) I bought everything in bulk, so it keeps the costs low. And bought everything in the last 5 months, so these are pretty current prices (I traded SRM primers for Large Pistol Primers to get going on .45). The bullets are the expensive part, especially for .45. With both loads, I'm running about half or less than what I'd pay commercial. |

Back in the days when 9mm bulk packs were 9 something at Wally World and a box of blazer 9mm was four bucks (or less) at Academy Sports I wasn't saving that m uch money by reloading that caliber. I made up for it by reloading .45ACP, .38spl, and .357 magnum.
These days, you're saving about 30% across the board regardless of what caliber you load. |

5 cents a primer, 25 cents for powder, 25 cents for a bullet, prorated 5 cents for one use of brass. 60 cents a shot. I can buy equivalent factory loads locally for about 75 cents, and if you factor in reusing the brass 4 more times, it is actually cheaper to shoot factory once then reload it 4 times. This is for .270 blasting and includes postage or tax.

.223 about $0.09 per round using a 55 gr FMJ
.45 ACP about $0.10 per round using a 200 gr lead SWC .357 about $0.15 per round using a 158 gr JHP .38 spl about $0.12 per round using a 158 lead SWC All my ammo is using components I bought in the late 90's early 2000's so the prices are low. I see what stuff is going for today and I thank God that I bought stuff when and in the amount I did. |

30 Carbine - 10.1¢/round
38/357 Mag - 11.8¢/round 40sw - 6.1¢/round 45acp - 7.2¢/round 10mm - 9.7¢/round 223 55/62grn - 8.1¢/round 223 68grn - 14.9¢/round Those are my current prices based upon existing stocks on hand. I have 10K rds of components for ea caliber for all except my newest , 38/357 which I have 6k worth of components for. |

Bob 3 cents per bullet (bought roughly 1K of mixed (mostly 200gr and 240gr soft cast SWC) for $32 at the flea market), 3 cents for powder (old can of Unique that I found in the back of a shop), 3 cents per primer ($29 for 1K, last box in the shop, going up $10 at the restock due to Hazmat fees per the owner), brass free (range brass) 9 cents each time I pull the trigger. Same flea market, I bought roughly 2500 mixed .22 rimfire for $25. Everything from shotshells to Yellow Jackets to HV shorts to CB caps. All goes bang though. 1 cent each time I pull the trigger. |

For stuff I've recently sold you cold theoretically load if you had brass already:
.308-.12cents per round on tracers .223-.11cents per round ball .308-15 cents per round ball. Summer is here and everyone has definitly slowed down buying certain componets. I'm not sure if they have enough or if they are running out of money! But everyone I've talked with is slowing their purchases down. |

.45 ACP I figure I am at about 16 or 17 cents per after initial brass investmnent. If you add in the brass Iits about 26 cents per round
$23 per 1K Large Pistol Primers $114 per 1000 230 FJM Bullets $24 for 1 lb of Bullseye Powder Say you load 5K every 6 months.... $260 per thousand for 1st set $161 per thousand after that Total for 5K is $904 so thats about .18 cents average per round. Powder could be a lot less if you can find an 8lb jug w/o haz mat shipping. This # is base on local 1lb fun shop prices. All bought in bulk. These #'s dont work for small qualtities..... If you were lucky enoght to get some less expensive SA .45 ACP for say $325 per K from Weideners cost would be $1625 for 5K. Thats savings of $721. More than enough to make up for equipment..... Thats how I sold the idea to the boss

I haven’t been reloading since the dawn of time, and most of my runs are small like when ever i can find a box of .223 fmjs
My calculated cost is roughly $50 per 250 rounds. PMC is like 9 bucks so I figure after taxes its $10, that’s 100 rounds of PMC for 50 bucks, as apposed to my 250 per $50. |
