Ramshot Tac. It was designed for the 223 and 308. It is a fine ball powder that will flow like water in your progressive dillion press.
TAC Ramshot TAC is a versatile rifle powder that performs well in a number of different calibers. We've never used it before though. Have you got any good loads for .308 for 175 smk? |

H4895 Varget A2230 Reloder 15 Ramshot TAC ...the list goes on. Just look at load data and pick something that does what you like. You might as well ask "what flavor of ice cream is best". You'd probably get a clearer answer. |

Buy one pound of ReLoder 15 and one pound of TAC or W748. Shoot these up. By the time they're gone, you'll have a little experience under your belt with two great gunpowders and can decide whether you need to keep hunting.
RE-15 is an extruded powder with granules a little finer than Varget. It's my favorite, partly because it's the first gunpowder I used, mostly because it works. TAC is a ball powder that will flow through the measure and has plenty of loads for both cartridges. As fads change, TAC is becoming more popular. W748 is pretty much one of the standard gunpowders for .223 Rem; this is also a ball powder. |

Thanks for all the help! I think I'll check for some TAC locally, and some of the others mentioned. I have ore or two places I have not checked yet... Wish me luck! If not, I'll order some up online; TAC sounds like really good stuff. I have also heard about H3335. I know a guy that likes Varget, but he doesn't use a Dillon powder bar.

I use H4895 in my .223 AR 16" carbine and 7.62x39 20" AR rifle, for my varmint .223 AR 24"varmint rifle I use Varget. It's a great all round rifle powder. The trick to powder measures, with these two powders, is to install a baffel in the bottom powder measure. That's IMHO.

Well, I picked up some 4895, and some TAC in town, so the experimentation shall begin! I got the last 1 pound bottle of TAC in the back of the shelf so lucky me.
Thanks again for the help. ETA: those were the only tow of those listed that were in stock anywhere. One store had the TAC, and two had 4895. |

Those are all good powders, one thing I am learning is that look at the load data, PART of what determines the powder is the weight of the bullet.
