Just for reference, my bushing is 0.245" diameter. I measured 0.248" overall diameter of my loaded rounds using commercial Winchester brass.
0.245" case neck 0.224" bullet 0.024" neck wall thickness (2 walls) I hope this helps in some way. |

You need to measure your loaded rounds with each brass mfg you use.
Each is different, and hence you will be in need of several bushings... |

Measure the brass with a bullet seated.
I use 0.245 bushings on new Winchester or Remington brass, and switch to 0.244 on about the fourth loading cycle. As the case lengthens, the neck gets thinner. .252-.224 = 0.028 0.028/2 = 0.014 => case neck wall thickness That's on the high side of what I would expect for .223 Rem cases. I think you need to measure the necks again, and measure them at more than one location around the circumfernce. |

Hmmm...I think I may reconsider and test Dillon's "no BS" warranty!
The neck tension on my Dillon sizing die never posed a problem... until the stem threads failed! thanks docgary |

Dillon pulls thru again!
Discussed my take on the problem with customer support.... They suggested I blue locktight the decapper pin to the threaded stem. I let it cure for about 2 hours. Ran thru VERY well lubed cases - Pin pulled out on the 5th case!! Spoke to the same support guy... Decapping pin with expander ball AND a new stem is in the mail!!! Dillon's support with their "NO BS" warranty - the best in the business!  docgary |

+1 for these dimensions are more consistently found for commercial and much LC brass. |

I remember taking quite a while to decide which bushing to use. I use the 0.246" size bushing and do not do any neck expanding or crimping. I have had great results at 460 yards using this setup (with the competition seating die) on about 1k rounds through my 24" Bushmaster. It loves 55gr and 60gr Hornady V-Max bullets. I might try a larger bushing down the road to see what happens, but I'll bet I would experience insufficient neck tension if I were to use the 0.250".

The thickest commercial brass I have ever encountered gave me a .248-249" reading. I used a .247" bushing. It had plenty of tension. |
