Guys I am looking to duplicate the load for 7.62 Lake city match. I know the projectile is a 168 grain match hollowpoint. What I don't know is what type of powder that is being used. Thanks in advance for any info.

I would work up a load using IMR 4895, I would use WLR primers, and I would use a Sierra 168OTM in LC match cases.

Sir, FWIW I used that load for quite a few years in match competition with my M1As.  It is the closest handload I know to Lake City M852.  However I must comment that especially on hotter days it will flatten the primers.  I finished decapping and resizing a lot of my M852 reloaded brass a few days ago and noticed that all primers had been flattened to the extent that they clearly had a ridge around the circumference at the base.  Therefore my advise to the original poster of this thread is to work up your loads, different lots of IMR 4895 are not identical.  JMHO, 7zero1.

Another vote for 41.5 gr/4895 and a 168 gr Sierra or Hornady. I use either WLR or CCI #200 primers. This shoots great out of my NM M1A, a Standard M1A, and an M700 PSS.

Thanks for all the replies. I will be careful and work up the loads for each individual rifle. I  was fortunate enough to have a friend give me some Lake city match ammunition and quite alot of brass. My AR10, SOCOM and My PSS all do well with Lake City Match ammo. I just needed to know what kind of propellant. Thanks again!
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST RELOADING FORUMS!!!!

Use IMR4895 or 4064 and push a 168gr Sierra to 2550fps with it.

Lake City brass with 168 grain Hornady or Sierra OTM, 43.0 grains W748 and Winchester Large Rifle primers.

Chrono'd 2554 fps average out of my Match M14, 10 shot groups right at 2 inches at 200 yds.

Do not use in temperatures over 100 degrees F. Pressures start climbing because of the temp sensitivity of W 748.  Not usually a problem for me in Western Washington, but can be on the East side.
