Does the GSG5PK come with a flash hider or not?

The flash hider that comes with the PK doesn't resemble anything like what HK offers for their real models.  They do offer a 4 prong FH that looks alot like a Smith Vortex and I just noticed some pics of 5K's that just came back from Iraq that had A1 birdcage hiders that accept suppressors.  If you get the thread adapter you can make a pretty close copy.

Here is what I did with mine,

this is just my opinion...but i hear so many folks talk about FHs on their pks, however for me this is the one assault/tactical firearm i own that i will not use the FH on.  To me the thrill with a PK is the compact ability, why add 2" to arguable the meanest compact assault gun around( i.e. mp5pk/ pdw or in our case the gsgpk).  Buy a carbine and pick a pretttty FH for it. J/K....seriously though with a gsgpk which is more important? 1. the ability to cover your flash in a tactical situation at night? or 2. Have a weapon at all times that can spend 48 rds (side x side) in less than half a minute all the while be concealable not only at NIGHT, but for the 70 % of the people who usually see more sun than night in their lives. I know the guys who run tact courses..etc will tell u that length can be clumsy and a cpl. inches on the end of your weapon can def. add to more headaches in shft and zombie scenarios.

I just like the looks of the A1 birdcage on the end and the extra 1.5" it adds does nothing to destroy it's compact profile.  It is also good to know that I am not the only one that likes it this way as there are a good number of MP5K's in service in Iraq with A1's on the end and the ability to use a suppressor "over" the A1.

I don't really plan on using the 5pk in any 'tactical' situation.  It is a fun, affordable plinker.  And it is too easy for someone to slide their thumb or finger in front of the barrel.  I won't shoot mine and I especially won't let a friend shoot it without a flash hider on it.

No offense but if one cant feel comfortable shooting a pk off one hand and even if u need a small brace in rapid or moving scenarios with two hands in fear of shooting themself with your own gun, than perhaps this gun isn't for you.  Ask a anti-terrorist spec op/ or govt security and security escort guys when the only time they feel like tacking on a 1.5 to 2" length to the gun, im sure it would take several minutes and involve always a suppressor app.  This gun have defined executive security detail...given we are talking real mp5 pks these assault pistols were built, marketed and sold damn near exclusively on the extreme compact specs and ergonomics of it,  so i cant really see how folks for some reason think that the damn FH is worth diminishing the very best thing about these guns,......go in closet, put on a nice suit and spend the time to get it fitted right under the sport coat with pdw sling, than IMAGINE adding the 2" .....no brainer for anyone who has any experience with the way the mp5pk was designed built and engineered to meet a highly defined, hard to fill role in the one that the mp5pk or i hate to even say it like this but the gsg5pk.  Just by the way the ref. to service men using the mp5pk  in iraq and afghanistan with a FH or not is really such silly point....first off only one of the locales u sited can even have support much warfare scenarios that a pk would fly....I bet in afghanistan the pk's are making 300 and 400 yd shots all the time...mp5pk in afghanistan are like mohighans and plus the bad asses who pack em dont say cheese for the cameras to much, next as for your mention of iraq, ask the hard fightening marines who went house to house in fullaja what weapons were used....most likely double buck shot and 556's with brief guests such as a rare 1911 or ucp 45, once again the guys who wield the mp5pks in iraq, the seals def. dont like having pictures taken of their pretty pks with tight FH's.

No worries, if it looks cool and makes u buzz than screw anyone who see's some mall ninja in the whole FH for the gsgpk.

Seriously though i'm sure a lot dumbarses have got a gsgpk by now and i havent even heard of 1 scare with this happening. Safety first i agree and esp. around the new shooters, but damn so many folks shroud firearms in a huge veil of "what if" accidents. I would challenge someone to tell me in their lives that no more people who have accidentally injured themselves with firearms more than the folks they know that accidentally injured themselves with just about all the other potential dangerous items human pick up like power tools, sewing machines, tractor equip........... If you quite simple at all time respect and are cognitive of u, the gun and the surrounding, than all other is cockblocking yourself out of a better time at the range, and for potential scaring the bejesus out of future shooters by requires weapons to have certain parts that EVEN the ATF didnt seem fit to include when passing the firearm

Oh and by the way, in the org. concept when HK decided to build the now legendary compact assault pistol one of the biggest selling points and reasons it was unique was a snub-nose, i cant see how u dont think tactical speaking or not,,,,,and we are never tactically speaking when referring anything to GSGs than a flash hider doesnt make a big diff. when using the "mp5pk in the real world....I bet i matters heavily to the guys around Obama. Gain little and give up much but hey at least it causes lively debate.

Dude, for the price of one (real) MP5pk....you could whip out 2 FN 5.7 pistols (side x side) and unload 40 rounds......then when thats over.....reach back behind, grab the other 2 FN 5.7 pistols and unload 40 more in less than 30 sec.....no clumsy length there

If that doesnt do it, then pick up your 4 empty pistols and huck em' like tire irons at the perp !!!

Trident:  I am the one that mentioned seeing an A1 birdcage on the real 5K's.  First of all I did not say they were in wide use in both the sandbox and the rock pile.  I said that I saw pictures from an armory in the US that had a bunch of weapons come back from a deployment of those two locations.  In those pictures there were quite a few HK MP5K's with A1 birdcage flash hiders that were designed to accept a suppressor.  I use a suppressor on my GSG-5PK and when not in use do not like the look of the bare thread protector so I put an A1 on it.  Just personal preferance.  And a point of fact, HK does offer and sends out from the factory some 5K's with a Vortex like 4 prong flash hider.

I most def. agree if u intend on a 3 lug barrel attachment with a FH for suppressed apps, most of us are not that lucky to have a sweet lil can for ours so i dont analyze this debate from that p.o.v.

I think they look nice with the three lug threaded like what mygsg5.com sells, I'm probably going to order one soon...........
