Time for a decent knife I suppose.

What do you guys reccomend for an automatic, preferably under $150?

I'm partial to to H&K/Benchmade line but my mind isn't totally set on that.

Are all of the "H&K" knives simply rebranded Benchmades?

IE the HK Entourage is the same as the Benchade xxxxxxxxx?

Benchmade basically licensed the name for a series of knives. Some are made in the US in the same facility and with the same materials as all other Benchmade knifes and some are imported. All the HK auto knives are made in the USA (as required by federal law).

mak0 is correct. The added benefit to the HK is you get a Benchmade quality knife.

The great thing about Benchmade if you ever break the blade or belt clip you can send it into them for a free replacement. Plus you can send it into them for free sharping whenever its needed. They have a lifetime warrentee

The knife finally came in today... Blade HQ must have taken MLK Day off

It's a little bigger/heavier than I expected but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

So far, so good - I drive 10-12 hours a day and I can definitely feel it in my back pocket but I'll probably just get used to it.

The locking mechanism and safety are a little 'rougher' than I imagined but that's alright.

I don't even use the safety lock. I've never had it open on me and I never used the one on my auto Stryker either
