As stated where do you go for KNIVES? |
|
I've ordered a couple from knifeworks.com. They had the best prices for the knives i wanted at the time.
Everything else i've bought either came from forums like these or ebay. As much as i hate buying on ebay some of the prices just cant be beat. I recently picked up a new ESEE 4 for $65 shipped and a new Ka-Bar BK14 for $32 shipped. One of my biggest gripes about "most" online knife dealers is shipping. Most of them either use UPS or they have a flat fee which is no good if you only want to pick up a single inexpensive knife like the BK14. |

I buy wherever I find the best prices... I have used Knives Ship Free, New Graham, Inventory Cheap, and Amazon to name a few... My favorite name in the knife sales genre is - Hillbilly Knife Sales! The name cracks me up... I have bought several knives (Fallknivens) from them without any problems... My favorite knife seller of "common" items is definitely Amazon - they have good prices, fast/dependable shipping, and their customer service is second to none in the retail world...

Knifeworks is my first choice. I've probably bought half a dozen knives from them. Very occasionally amazon or ebay may have one cheaper

Mostly Knife works and The-knife-connection. I've bought a few frome each. I've bought from Howes Knife shop as well. I called to confirm stock and he said yes but wanted to make sure for me. He put hands on the exact knife while I was on the phone (at 5:05 PM). It shipped the next morning. He was a nice guy but that was the only knife I've bought from him.
I've bought a few off Amazon from different vendors. It always is a guess as to when I will get it in. But on cheaper knives that I'm not rushed on it's not a big deal. I bought one from the Kershaw Store today. Wasn't the cheapest (for this style/ type), but it was an out of production knife that I couldn't find anywhere else. We'll see how it goes. Only bad review I could give is from Ontario knife store. Took forever. The web site didn't tell me it wasn't in stock. After being charged and 8 business days I called them to find they were waiting on the knife to ship to them. Five business days after that, I called to find "Oh ya, it's here. We'll ship tomorrow." it took just under a month to get the knife. |

Highlandblades
...of course, I'm partial, since the owner/maker is my uncle... Made me a very nice Dirk to take with me for OIF V (Surge): |

I just bought a Esee 4 from knifeworks.
But really this is an OST. |
|
I looked around for CRKT knives, and Wal-Mart had the best prices.
I feel like a traitor. |
|
knife center will match or beat any price. They also toss in free stuff all the time. I buy tons of blades there.
|
|
For Benchmades my new favorite is http://wessonacehardware.com/Store/. Prices are high until you apply the discount code with each model.

If I am buying automatic knives, I go to the few sites that don't require you to show that you're LEO or military.
Any other knife...I try to see if amazon sells it as PRIME elegible to get it fast with $0 shipping costs. I've bought most of my knives locally though...only 2 have been bought online. |

I've ordered from newgraham, notjustknives, knifecenter, theknifeconnection, knivesshipfree, and ebay.
I usually just go with the cheapest price and that's usually notjustknives. They often run out of stock though, so I use the other guys if I really want something. |

Cutlery Shoppe has always done me right with great prices and service. Been buying from them since 1995 or so.

Usually when I google a knife, it pops up with at least a cuple of dozen places selling the knife with a price range. For example: $45-$95, then I click on the links until I find the cheap places.
ETA: Google a knife and scroll down til you see Shopping results. I've been flirting with getting the Kabar Big Brother and the shopping results just showed me there are 87 places that sell it for $63-$189. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Blade HQ usually has hard to beat prices and an awesome selection. They have most every production knife being made as well as a lot of custom stuff. $6.00 shipping on any order seems acceptable and they are usually pretty damn fast.
Atlanta Cutlery / Museum Replicas sells some well made reproductions of hard to find military and antique blades from around the world. Most of their better stuff is made by Windlass Steelcrafts in India. They use high carbon steel and all their blades are very usable. I would prefer American made but they are a very reputable company and they have many contracts with various militarys around the world. They also have an option to sharpen most blades for a nominal fee. Free shipping on orders over $150. |

a BIG +1 for knifeworks.com
I've also purchased from knifecenter.com - no complaints. |
|
I've had good dealings with knifeworks and gpknives. As a matter of fact, I have one inbound from gpknives as I type this.

I've bought direct from Benchmade with my discount. I just ordered 2 ESEE-3's from knivesshipfree.com. According to the postal service tracking, they will be in my mailbox tommorow. I placed my order on June 29th. Price was excellent. I was at SMKW the other day and their price was about $25 more than knivesshipfree.com

I cannot recommend Knifeworks. Years ago, I ordered a Buck-Mayo TNT. It arrived in an opened box (Buck sealed them with tape) and the grind was atrocious. I asked why the box was opened. They said it was to show a longtime customer. I then asked why they didn't send it back to Buck as it was really jacked up. They said they didn't notice the crappy grind. My theory was that they were handpicking for this longtime customer and I got the shitty one. I posted my travails on Bladeforums and CJ Buck himself took care of the problem.

I recieved my ESEE knives from knivesshipfree. No problems with the order at all. I will deff. order from them again

Haven't purchased a knife from them but bought one of their Frag scales for my ZT0550. I exchanged a few emails with their CS and was nothing but impressed with them. I'd buy from there with confidence for sure. |
