Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Question about buckle

I am sure that this question has been answered somewhere else but I cannot find it. I just bought a desert full size Ka-Bar and the sheath (kydex plastic) came with a buckle at the end of it. What and how is the buckle used for? Thanks.

As I recall, the buckle was to allow attaching the sheath upside-down to a harness, on your chest.
