I am looking for a fixed blade knife that would be a good general purpose blade (fixed) in a size that would be able to attach to the outside of my drop holster.

Any recommendations here? Something with a Kydex sheath but not over 150.00 bills?

I just picked up my first CRKT (M21-14SF) and I really like the quality of this so any one familiar with CRKT fixed baldes?

Thanks

ETA:

I have a gerber LMF II but it is to big to attach to the holster outside

Check out the Emerson PUK.

Not cheap, but a darn good knife.

Only if you like chisel edged knives. I'd go with the RTAK.

I have a bunch of CRKT Foldersand happy as heck with them. I also have a couple CRKT Hissatsu and while not being a GP aseem to be a pretty good bargain for the price.

Hopefully someone will pick up the Lic Agreement and start making the BT&K line soon after the down fall of Camillus.

There were a number of solid GP/Utility fixed blades available.

Below are a few examples of BT&K reworked/rebuilt fixed blades.

Combat Utility BK7

Combat Bowie BK9

BK2, 10 and 11 I need to get motivated and back to work on.

Falkniven A1, Cold Steel SRK, Cold Steel Master Hunter Sanmai 3, Onterio Spec Plus or RAT series or a Ranger.

+1 on the Becker Knives, I have a Becker Brute and after using it in the woods and camping I would have to say it is the best knife I have owned!

Well here is a list of sorts

Gerber LMF II $60
Ranger Knives- RD 6   $90
Ontario- Rat 7 D2   $110
Scrapyard Knives- Yard Hook $120
Spyderco- Dayhiker   $162
Swamp Rat- M6     $180

The Yard Hook looks like the Becker Brute just smaller, the swamp rat looks like it would fit the bill but it is a little on the long side.

I think the Gerber LMF II is probably the best fit for the application.

BTW, the Spyderco looks like a good one but a little pricey for a GP knife....thanks for all the feedback and the great idea's on knives to add to my collection that is growing...

Swamp Rat just added a bunch of Ratmandus to their site store, they are great blades
I just ordered one, pics are here

specs are :
The cost is 138.95 plus shipping.  Here are the RatManDu Specs
(Lengths are Approx:)
-Blade Length 4 3/4"-
-(tip to edge of scales 5 1/8" )-
-Overall Length 10 1/4"-
-Stock thickness 3/16"-
-Steel is Through hardened SR101-

I also just picked up a M6 from them

that is a great knife as well.
