I really don’t know all that much about knives.  I know a bit about different types of steel and I have a few knives like a 2nd gen KaBar, a Cold Steel Peacekeeper and a Kershaw Amphibian (my favorite and most used…a little fixed blade stainless knife for diving and kayaking).

I am looking for a quality folder.

Any comments on the SIG?  Also considering a Benchmade/Emerson.

Never really heard of these folders before. N690 is a pretty good steel. You should definitely check out the Benchmade 710 and the Emerson CQC-7. Both great blades. I personally prefer the Al Mar S.E.R.E. 2000 over both of these blades. You will find alot of info over at Bladeforums. This knife forum is'nt very active.
