Im gonna buy a Buck strider 881 mini folder and i want to know should i go with the tanto or the spear point and why. Thanks.

This is always a debated subject but usually the consensus is that tanto tips give you a little more room for prying than spear points. This assumes you have nothing else and absolutely have to pry something apart.

The second point is that a tanto point gives some a challenge when it comes to sharpening, since there is always a very distinct angle present.

I would personally go with a tanto point, everytime.

For a good beater knife, have you looked at the 889 SBMF or the 882? Both are great beater knives.

The 882 is avaiable with an ATS34 blade and G10 scales.

i already have an 889 that i have fiddled with, for the price you cant beat em. I think Ill go ahead and get the tanto. Thanks.

This is the most solid knife i have ever bought. I will buy at least one or two more for my collection. At $50 a pop you cant go wrong with it.
