Sog makes a camp knife that would be more suited to trail use than the Seal.

I feel better camp/survival knives are out there. Maybe you should check out some of these.

I would say the Becker Crewman.  Check out knifeworks.com for great prices and service.  I can't believe they sell these for under $50.

I've got a SOG Recondo, which I like a lot.  I also just picked up a Mission MPK-Ti (MultiPurpose Knife) which is made of Titanium.  It is completely badass.  The Ti blade makes it extremely light.
