We had a nice 47 degree day here in Michigan yesterday so I went to the range with my dad and my Barrett M99 to shoot some "hard" targets. The first pic show the two pieces of steel we were shooting at. The one on the left is a 3/8inch thick tube with two 1 inch pieces inside. You can see a ball round embedded in the first 1in. plate. The second piece is 11/4in thick.

We were approximately 125 yards away. The 1 1/4 inch piece shows a large indentation from a Talon ball round. The other holes were AP rounds that easily went through. The tubular steel and plates has two holes. The smaller higher burnt hole is from a TTI Armory API round that burned the orange dot off completely. I was hoping to see the bright flash but was still recovering from the shot and only saw smoke. The second lower larger hole is an AP round.

After separating the plates with a sledgehammer and rod, you can see that both the API and AP rounds went thru the first one inch plate and embedded in the second one. The API steel core stayed in the metal. The AP steel core disintegrated.

That was the first time I shot at anything besides paper targets. It is alot of fun. That is some good shooting if you are hitting pins at 700-800 yards!! The farthest we could have shot was 200yds but that range was so muddy that it was all but impossible. My dad likes to take alot of pics. Here is a few I thought look cool.

Those look like 20mm rounds sticking thru that metal. Is it the angle? That also looks to be 11/4-11/2" thick. I bet it was fun hanging that big heavy thing!! Finally I wished we had open land like that to really shoot some distance!!

Those are 50 projo's sticking out of a 5/8" thick plate that we set up at 1000 yards.
