Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - M82A1 factory ammo question

I have been buying the Barrett brand 661 GR FMJ for my rifle and damn it isn't cheap!

I have been tempted to try out some old linked .50 BMG gun show crap. Can anyone with some 82A1 expeariance  give me a rough MOA diffrence between the two rounds?

I tend to get used to one type of ammo for my guns; sight in, train and  stock up.

If you where to stock up, do you just bend over for the name brand stuff? (Barrett/IMI if you can find bulk)

The Barrett headstamped ammo is supposed to be produced to tighter specs than the mil surp stuff.
The Barrett ammo is IMI produced. The Izzy's outsourced it to Yugoslavia, that is where it is made now.

The mil-surp stuff will probably be a bit sloppier in the accuracy dep't. But then again, I've seen some M82A1's shoot great groups with it.
LC mid 80's is best if you can find it.
