Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - what scope to put on my M99 and will a mark 4 hold up on the 50cal

i have a low power NF on the gun now . but i want to put   a mark 4 illum   8.5-25 power that i have laying around  few people have said it wont take the beating of the the 50cal. any ideas

I know the Mark 4 M1 16x40mm holds up just fine on a .50.

I have an 8.5-25 M1 on my AR-50.   400+rounds and no problems.

Also have the Mk4 16 power, however I'm not sure if the one you speaking of is built to the same specs. I have had this scope since 1990 and it's rock solid. They only had 3 versions of the Mark 4 then, now everything is called a Mark 4...
