So I've decided I'm getting a SCAR 16s. What are prices like now days? I saw one being sold locally for $2,000 and I've seen a few on here nearing that price range. I'd prefer a black one, but really, I don't care all that much.

I'm selling an RRA AR ($1,000) and an XCR ($1,400) to purchase this and I'm looking to stay around $2,200 so I can still use a little money to pick up a few essentials. Are prices for black rifles higher than tan? What are rates now days for a new one compared to used? I've watched online here and gun broker, but it still seems hard to tell.

I bought mine off of the E.E. here for $2,100 . It was slightly used , less than 100 rounds that was about 3 months ago . Mine is tan .

the one you found lacally for $2,000 would be in my safe if I was you .

Got my black one last weekend new for $1999.99 + tax at my local shop.  I think it's going to hover around that point.

That has to be used or they are stupid, dealer is $2,180.  FN has same prices at all distributors.

Thanks for playing, try again.  The gun was brand new in FNH's exquisitely luxurious packaging.  They have a lot of buying power and move a lot of guns.  This was the same shop where I got a Sig 522 for $359 new.    I got the SCAR @ $1999 during their hunting sale, but they decided to extend the price for the entire month.

Sticker price is $2499 normally.

Local shop here in VA has one for $2400.00, looks like it might be a blem model though (several "dark" areas on the finish).

blemish models were going for a shade under $2k.  Anything over is someone trying to make money.  I bought mine (non-blem) for a little under $2500, which at the time was a good deal.  I almost wish I would've waited (except I'm glad I had it waiting on me) b/c now you can find them for 2100-2200ish

You know your reply made me smile...  I've been around on ARFCOM for a long time and unfortunately the number of people like this keep increasing.

I just e-mailed them. If they will ship one to Utah at the 1999.99 price +shipping, I'll have one very soon!

Good luck man, I just spent 10min trying to get them to let me order one over the phone and have it shipped to me.  At first the guy said I had to come in to get it, then when I asked him to ask about it he told me after a long wait that the only way they could do it would be for me to mail them certified funds for 1999.00 plus 75.00 for shipping and FFL fee (for what I have no idea).  I tried to get him to take my CC info and let me make an order but he kept telling me they weren't setup to do that.

Hmmmm..... an FFL fee for sending it? Weird. I'd be okay with paying the $2,075 but I'd prefer via CC or something. What are your plans?

I sent them an email via the app on their site asking them how I could order the rifle for the 1999 using a CC.
We'll see what they come back with if anything.  If they can't find a way to make it easier to buy from them
I suppose I'll just get it elsewhere.  HK specialist has the tan for 2195 with no CC fees and usually pretty reasonable shipping.
At that point I would rather buy from him even at 150.00 more just for the piece of mind of being able to use my CC.  I just don't feel good about
the guy telling me just to mail them a cashiers check for one with no order # or any other assurances that they will still have one for me
when my funds arrive.  Pretty disappointed was excited to finally get one.

If it makes any difference, the prices listed for the ad I posted are with a 3% cash discount.  They will charge me 3% for using credit in-store as well.  I'm not familiar with their outbound FFL fees so I can't help out there.

Yeah, the 3% CC fee thing is fairly common and I really don't mind paying for that convenience especially when
they are selling something at or near their cost.  But so far they wont even let me pay with CC at all, even with
the fee.  And if they do relent and let me buy one with CC and  3% fee then add on 75.00 for shipping and a bogus
FFL fee then at that point it really isn't much of a deal.  Still holding out hope the guy I talked to just didn't know what he was
doing and my email will get to somebody who wants to take my money.

Jmftexas, I think your rationale is sound.  Try to get someone else to corroborate the info you were given; the shop is primarily a brick and mortar enterprise.  They do not do much commerce online other than ads so the sales staff may be poorly informed.  Good luck.

I tried to get it dirty but it won't cooperate.  Even after 500 rounds of wolf, the darn thing still looks squeaky clean aft of the piston.

Unfortunately it looks like the info I was given over the phone was accurate.  Here is the response to my e-mail to them:

Hi,

You were informed correctly by our sales rep. We cannot accept credit card
orders over the phone, and we can't accept out of state orders online. If
you are interested in ordering one we would be happy to sell you one, but we
do require that you send a certified check or money order for the total
amount ($1999 + $75 for shipping/handling and transfer fees)

Thanks,
––Josh.

I was just about to post this same information from the same person. Really, $75 for shipping and handling, isn't too bad, considering they're not making much on the rifle anyway. If I can scrounge up the money to do it, I may have a new rifle very soon.

At this point it isn't the price keeping me from ordering from them but rather the idea that I am sending them a MO
with out being able to actually make the order first. No confirmation or order number to reference on the money order itself
or when I call to check up on it.  Also no way to be sure they will even still have one when my funds arrive.  I asked if they would set one aside
while they waited for my MO to arrive and the guy just said they had plenty which doesn't quite do it for me when I am mailing 2K of what is essentially cash
to someone I have never done business with.  I don't know, I may still go for it but like I said before paying the extra 100-150 elsewhere may just be worth it for the
piece of mind that being able to use my CC buys me.
