I was looking at a stripped RR that was converted from a semi.

The machining for the sear machined the selector detent boss half way down the selector cross hole, exposing the selector detent hole with the selector removed.

With a selector installed, it would stop its detent, but the detent boss was machined to the middle of the selector's axis and not completely above it.

Is that boss needed for anything else?

I know it houses the selector detent, but does the sear require it?

I don't think anything rest there or is tensioned against it, or is there?
