Here's a question, I have a Saiga-12 that I registered with the NFA a couple of months ago. I listed on it as having an 8" barrel, but I haven't cut it yet. I've been doing a lot of research since then and I have decided to do it myself. I want it to be really reliable though, and it seems like it's easier to cut it down to 12" or 14" and have it cycle all sorts of loads.

Can I do that, and just send a letter to the ATF letting them know the change? Or am I fucked?

I'm no expert but since its the receiver that's registered it shouldn't make a difference what length you make the barrel. Then again the batf is odd when it comes to things.
