oring size for octane .45 HD pistons?

[ARCHIVED THREAD] - oring size for octane .45 HD pistons?

What size viton o-rings fit the m16 .45 cal piston for the octane (USP tactical)? Also, the regular .45 thread size o-ring (1911)?

Yes I know you can buy two packs of o-rings from their site but its like 4$ each plus shipping, when 100 packs are 12$ prime.

I know someone on here knows the exact size number. There is an archive thread but it doesn't say what piston. Please help me save my Thursday!

This is cross posted to GD, sorry mods. Trying for a quick answer, I only have one day off and am hoping to get some shipped before then.

I bought those. A little harder than the standard ones. Which were 70 or 75. Those tore easily.

Is this for USP or 1911 piston? Are they the same?

I got my order in of these, doesn't quite fit and I'm having copper jackets in my can after using these. Just a hair too small me thinks.

I have the SiCo ones coming tomorrow and am going to compare sizes.

I had this happen with my other pistol and the issue was the oring so we shall see.

Where do these o rings go? I looked inside all my pistons and I don't see a spot for an o ring anywhere.

So apparently the metric pistons have an o-ring in the threads that mate with the barrel. All the others don't?

I finally said screw it and shot the octane on a 1911 without having an o-ring in the piston threads and it actually worked, instead of shaving the bullet jackets as they went through.

My bad I thought you meant o-ring that go is over the barrel to keep the can from backing off the threads when shooting.

I think we were thinking of same thing, but with the ring the copper jackets of the bullets were disentagrating in the can. Without it things are working again. I didn't know the non-metric ones didn't actually need an o-ring.
