ok, why?

Pretty simple...

1)  Sound Reduction
2)  Ease of Cleaning
3)  Cost

Well... how about runner up? Or a comparison.

Based on importance of my personal criteria, I would recommend in order(with some highlights/lowlights)

1)  Spectre II - only negative is it ain't pretty
2)  SS Sparrow - it's short and has noticeable frp compared to others in my possession
3)  Essence - extremely light, not fun to disassemble, average suppression, expensive
4)  Guardian - became expensive once I sent it in for Kestrel baffles, my ears think it became a louder can, easy to clean now

My Spectre II will be home any day now.

I researched them all, and shot most of them. Not sure why the Spectre II does not get more love.

It does have a funky ass on it.

If only SWR didn't include "95% uglier" on its list of upgrades for the Spectre II.  I still don't understand this trend away from cylinders by the manufacturers.  For any given length and diameter, the maximum volume is a cylinder.  Including all the steps and narrow bits just eats volume and makes it look like a sewer pipe.

I'm gonna say the Spectre II.  Here I am shooting mine with a Ruger MKIII and Tacsol upper.

I own a Spectre2 (upgrade) and the SS Sparrow... I don't know if I can recommend both because there isn't much difference between them, but they both rock. I can't say I pick one over the other ever, just whatever I grab first. I see absolutely zero reason to get any other 22 can besides those two.

SpectreII... Though I have the original spectre. It's built like a tank and is super fun to shoot. I did like the silencerco sparrow too but went with SWR.

Thanks for the side by side pic.

You pushed me off the fence onto the Spectre II side.

thanks for helping me spend my money...

Look at how they tested, and the comapny building them.  Out of those, I went with the HTA Guardian with SS baffles.

Really? How is it you think a small shop tested their product that the larger SWR/SiCo shop just could and did not do?

That's great if you have one and like it, I'm not knocking you, it could fit your uses and budget perfectly, and the more people happy with silencers the better. But... let's be realistic about decision making processes - HTA did not do special testing that no one else did not also do. On that note nothing seems special about that company. So no one can "look at how they tested and the company" and decide they make a better product.

Silencerco sparrow on my savage Mk ii.  These are 3 videos of my set up with a 1st time shooter shutting it at 100 yards yesterday.

I love my 2 sparrows but I had to get a Spectre II just for good measure.
