Tried to search reviews of how the SWR Spectre performs on .22 mag and .17 hmr in rifle platforms with barrel length 16+inches. Is anyone running the Spectre on either of these magnum calibers or just sticking to the cost effective .22 lr? If so, which caliber does the can suppress the best? Just curious...

I know there are a few proud new owners of this suppressor... Someone has to have tried it already with .22mag/.17hmr... or 5.7 maybe???

I'm trying to find another barrel for my Automag II. I'm also curios to see what it will to with the magnum. It is spooky quiet with LR.

I'll bet money they sound just like suppressed .223 or supersonic .22LR. unsuppressed.

Probably. But it won't sound like a .38 special!

to hear what the 17hmr sounds like shoot a few stingers out of your 10\22 supressed. no real report but the supersonic round is pretty loud.

I have the spectre and a Marlin 917 17 hmr I use it on.  What rob explained pretty well describes what it sounds like.  If you're wondering, reproduce with stingers on a 22lr.

Edit:  Accuracy stays good on the 22" barrel after threading to 1/2x28 for attachment of a suppressor.  I can kill out to 100 with minute of nickel accuracy.  Admittedly before threading it was minute of dime accuracy, but a nickel isn't bad either.  Longer confirmed on a chizler is 165 yards prone from a hill - chizlers are field rat type of critters probably 2" wide 5 " tall when standing up right.
