Has anyone attempted to clean a pistol silencer's LCD by soaking it in Slip 2000 Carbon Killer? The LCD on my SWR HEMS 2 is completely covered in carbon and I'd like to clean it up as much as possible. Up until now I have been using CLP to clean it but repeated use has left behind substantial carbon build-up that CLP and elbow grease cannot remove.

I'd also be interested in hearing any alternatives to this idea as well.

It is what I use on my pistol can pistons. I use small glass spice jars. Fill with Slip 2000 CC and drop the part in there for a few hours or even over night.

Is it safe to submerge an entire suppressor in this stuff? I have been using lacquer thinner.

Will it damange the finish if Aluminum? Just thinking about cleaning a Gemtech Outback 2..
