Evo-9 is my first choice. The SWR Trident is my second choice.
Reasons:
Evo-9 is a smaller, lighter weight can. When not using the fixed barrel adapter (FBA) the Evo-9 can allows indexing on the host weapon without removing the can. Simply pull the can away from the host and turn. The Evo-9 does come with a FBA.
Machining on both is very good.
Both cans sound very good.
Both cans have excellent warranty and service from their manufacturers.
If I were going to run the can exclusively on a subgun/9mm AR, I'd strongly consider a TROS three-lug barrel and I'd open my consideration to include three-lug cans like the AAC Striker II. A Striker II will be cheaper than the Trident or Evo with their respective three-lug mounts. I personally don't like having one can and making it run on multiple hosts. It sounds good, but in practice I is a hassle to be at the range and pop a hot can off the subgun, swap a few parts and then run it on the pistol. As they say, YMMV.
All of these cans will work great on a 9mm SBR.
