I turn 21 next month (WOHOO) and I am looking to buy a .22 pistol so that I can shoot cheap while learning to handle a pistol.  

I have been looking at the Walther P22 but I am not sure which version to get the 3" or 5" barrel.  Any experience with this handgun?

Any other suggestions for a .22?

Check the handgun forum on the site navigator and do a search on this site. There have been a couple of threads about the P22.
There are also conversion kits available for the 1911 and the Browning HiPower. That might be an option to consider. HTH.

There have been several threads recently about the P22. A quick search and you should have lots of info.

FWIW, I own a P22Target (5" barrel) and I love it. It shoots great and has a lot of good features in it. I got a conversion barrel for it ( $60 online ) so I can switch it back and forth. Well worth the money, IMHO.
