can they be reposted from Email ??
does a pic have to go to a host first ?? is what you describe......, the only way ? for those of us who are technologically challenged, is it possible to describe how to post a photo from scanner to this site or from a digital camera to here when both have Email capabilities ? jus wonder'n ??????????? |
Yes, you would have to have a host.
Now, if the picture you're reposting has a link associated with it, you can use that link. Pictures from a digital camera or scanner would need to be uploaded to a host before they could be posted. Unfortunately, this is the only way. |
Also, if the example isn't clear enough for some just use the "reply with quote" (indicated by the "" above the post) and this will show exactly what was typed. You can hit CANCEL to abort.

That feature is for paying members of this board. When you pay they'll give you some space to host your pictures. I've been meaning to pay the fees but have been sooooooo busy, etc... BTW its $60 well spent helping to improve the services of the board. |

OK heres a question. I am posting pics OK but they are always smaller than 640 x 480, even though the original pics were taken at much higher resolutions. I have tried using AOL and also webphoto with the same result. I"m starting to think I'm linking to a thumbnail instead of the real pic?
Ecs,did you click on the photo first to make the pic. larger at webphotos before copying the img. location.
I didn`t do that at first and the result was a thumbnail size pic. |
Nice, BTW you better watch it putting your firearms on the good furniture.....might get an oil stain
Nice, now size em down a little if you like, they load faster.
Do this before you upload them to your pic. host. I usualy set resolution to 72 for both email and uploads. Glad you got it. |

Its been a few days since i've checked this post, thought i'd read the replies.
Nice collection hg112! Yeah, if you don't want massively large pictures lower resolutions will usually reduce the size. About 72 dots per inch is good for images on the internet but not so desirable for images going to print. |
Anyone else??
Any questions?? Read it/reply and/or post to it while you can! Maybe someone can suggest more host for others looking for a place to store their pictures. |
Hey Misterhemi - Here's a pic of a friend-of-a-friend's S/C Cuda you might enjoy. He's based in the Sacramento area. Maybe you've seen it?
LOL!! Yes and as you see some host won't allow you to link to the photos. Seems as though we need to make a list of the ones who will allow this. In the absolutely worst case, say you really need to identify something or you need help repairing something email the photo to me and i'll try to help...do give me time to respond [usually within 24hours] but remember only if its important and you need help. |
Thought i'd check... the problem is that you are trying to post a web page (HTML) not an image (JPG or GIF). You need to change that to an image name, e.g. - ar1.jpg NOT ar1.html Do you know the image name...if its on a web page some where you may be able to right click on it and find out the name. If you're using a MacIntosh just click on it and hold the button down to see. |
NICE! Haven't seen it, gotta keep an eye out for it! |
OK, I'll give it a try.

Kali, if you reverse all of your brackets it should work...also your end bracket need a slash
/img computer geeks cooked up a tagging system where the ending tag is spelled like the beginning tag and preceeded with a /. |
Thanks. I'll give it another try, reverse the barckets and add the slash. Here goes:

Well, I got a box with an "X" in it. I guess that's closer, now how do I fix it?

Rabbit......
Click on reply with quote on mine to see what I did different. I think that you have the wrong address in yours. You right click on the photo in your album then click on properties. Then copy the address and put in within the img brackets... good luck |
Thanks alot Stormbringer! I think I've got it now. Maybe next I should try posting a smaller pic. |
