[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Does anyone make a weaver base for savage tatical?

The scope I want to use the rings are too far apart.a weaver type mount would solve the problem.

Try Brownells.com or the Brownells Cataolg. I think I saw a few weaver bases in the 2001-2001 catalog #54.

Yup, Brownells has them. The bases you want are sizes 46 front and 61 rear. S is stainless and M is matte. The Grand Slam bases are a little taller than the standard Weaver top mount bases. HTH

Yup, Brownells. Just saw them today when I ordered something else. Do a search for "scope mounts" and you should find it.

Sorry,what I really need is a rail type mount that will space my rings about 2" apart.the scope I have has a big bell and a short length.

Weaver makes a front mount that extends back over the loading port (#402).

Weavers one piece base is #413.

You can also get extension rings to fit a short tube scope.

Be careful. I use one of their one-piece mounts but it's not a standard weaver base, it's a picitinny rail. My Leupold QRW rings fit fine but my Burris Signature rings wouldn't fit the base.

B-Square makes a one-piece base for Savages too. Brownells sells it too.

I use Burris Z rings on my tactical rigs. Where the rings tight on the M/P base? Weaver makes a one-piece base for the 110, but no listing for the 10.

The only one-piece base for the Savage short-actions (such as my 10FP) is made by B-Square. It is aluminum with shiny black finish, and looks very much like a Weaver-brand rail (ugly). It is also of Weaver design, meaning that it doesn't have evenly-spaced cross-slots like a Picatinny rail. Of course, you could send it to Kurt to have him machine additional cross-slots for you, or maybe have him use one as a basis for a steel Picatinny rail (the latter was my plan).
