Someone was telling me there's a CA legal AR-15.  It's basically an AR-15 without a removable magazine and is loaded using 10 round stripper clips.  Does anyone have any info on this?  What are you're thoughts?  If I move to AZ can I convert it to a magazine loadable version?  Thanks in advance.

I think it's even worse than you think. I believe the CA legal AR is a single shot, no mag well whatsoever. Check the DPMS site for more info.

I had a link for the AR15 with a 10 round fixed mag but I lost it. The mag well is closed at the bottom and it has a 10 round steel mag you load from the top. I don't think they can be converted to "normal" operation, but ICBW.

I'm looking at a DPMS single shot lower as a base for a Ferret .50 cal upper. Now that would be cool!

Do a search here using gogogadgets or FAB10 as keywords.

Other than for use with a 50 BMG upper, why bother? I'd skip it and get an M1A or that DSA top loading FAL.
