i'm looking for an infrared light source for the front of my m-4 i'm putting together,, would like an inexspensive light. i already have a mini mag light with the filter ..but wanted something a little more"cool" looking to enhance the weapons value

ps i saw a military light this past weekend at a local gun show ..the guy selling it wanted 40.00$for it but would not guarante it to work..it took two d cell batterys and had a micro switch that was on .off. and momentary

Have a look at the new SureFire M9XX-series lights, with a tip-off IR filter. A bit more than $40, but worth it.

MSTN has an ad in the For Sale: Accessories & Misc. forum on the EE, detailing some of the features of these weapon lights.

If you need an IR source, then you have some kind of IR / NV sight (scope, goggles, monocular, whatever).  What about an IR laser?
