The Lone Star is the best of the two available options, the other being the DPMS grip plug, which will fall out on its own.
The Lone Star grip is not going to hold up to regular opening and closing, which is unfortunate. -Troy |

I learned about the DPMS grip plug the hard way while hiking through the woods. I would advise NOT going that route.

I believe Olympic Arms grip is a stow away with a sliding door, at least they used to be.

Install a SMALL stainless steel wood or machine screw where the projecting portion if the latch was on the worn-out Lone Star. Carefully use a dremel or similar to create an appropriate relief for the screw head in the grip body. Easy does it. If that ever wears loose, increase size of screw, and enlarge relief cut in grip body.

Troy hit the nail on the head when he said the the DPMS pistol grip plug falls out. It was a 5-10 dollar piece of junk and has never been used since I realized that it really didn't fit the pistol grip, let alone keep parts or cleaning supplies inside.
