Anyone catch the article on the SOCOM Enhanced Carbine in the March SOF? Pretty interesting comparison of the S.I.R. system to the RAS. Article also says the SEAL's are interested in 10" bbls for their carbines as part of the CQB component system. Shades of VietNam!!!

It's the first time I saw the S.I.R. system.

Hope that price goes down(wishful thinking).

The set up for the SIR is 425 dollars. that includes a #40 pop up rear sight.  if you account that into your pricing, the SIR would only cost you 370 dollars.  that is free floating hand guard with a build in SWAM sleeve.  Sounds like a bargin to me.
